8-Day Morocco Honeymoon Tour: Fes, Sahara Desert & Marrakech

Private 8-day honeymoon from Casablanca: riads in Fes and Marrakech and a night for two in the Sahara dunes.

A honeymoon from the medina to the dunes

Eight days, one driver and no strangers on a bus: this private honeymoon follows our classic desert route with the details couples care about. You sleep in characterful riads in Fes and Marrakech, share a hammam, and ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset and a dinner under the stars at Merzouga. The return crosses the Dades Valley and the High Atlas to Marrakech, where a rooftop dinner over Jemaa el-Fna closes the trip.

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Your driver meets you at Mohammed V Airport and takes you to your hotel. In the late afternoon you visit the Hassan II Mosque, built over the Atlantic, then walk along the Ain Diab Corniche for sunset and a seafood dinner by the ocean.

Day 2: Rabat – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

You stop in Rabat for the Kasbah of the Udayas and its quiet Andalusian garden, then continue to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, where the floor mosaics are still in place. After a short stop in Meknes at the Bab Mansour gate you reach Fes and check in to a restored riad in the medina.

Day 3: Fes

A licensed guide leads you through Fes el-Bali in the morning: the Bou Inania Madrasa, the craft souks and the Chouara tannery seen from a terrace. The afternoon is yours, with a traditional hammam and massage for two. At sunset your driver takes you up to the Marinid Tombs for the view over the medina.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga

You cross the Middle Atlas through the cedar forests near Ifrane and Azrou, home to Barbary macaques, and follow the Ziz Valley south. At Merzouga you swap the car for camels and ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Dinner and the night are in a desert camp; for honeymooners we recommend a luxury tent with a private bathroom.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake early to watch the sun rise over the dunes, then ride back to Merzouga for breakfast. You drive through Rissani to the Todra Gorge for a walk between walls up to 300 metres high, and spend the night in a kasbah hotel in the Dades Valley.

Day 6: Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs leads through Kelaat M’Gouna, the valley of roses, and Skoura to Ouarzazate. After the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou you cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass and arrive in Marrakech, where your riad waits with a quiet courtyard.

Day 7: Marrakech

A local guide shows you the Majorelle Garden, the Bahia Palace and the souks. The afternoon is free for the pool or shopping, and early risers can book a hot-air balloon flight at sunrise. In the evening, dinner on a rooftop overlooking Jemaa el-Fna.

Day 8: Marrakech – Casablanca

After a slow breakfast your driver takes you back to Casablanca airport (about 3 hours) for your flight home. If you fly from Marrakech, we drop you there instead.
