Our longest spiritual journey crosses Morocco from the Atlantic to the Sahara and back. You visit the Hassan II Mosque, the royal mausoleum in Rabat, Moulay Idriss Zerhoun and the madrasas of Fes, then spend a night of silence and stars in the Merzouga dunes, near the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif in Rissani. Marrakech brings the Koutoubia and the Seven Saints, Essaouira its Gnawa brotherhood and Azemmour the shrine of Moulay Bouchaib, before a final free day in Casablanca.

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
Transfer to your hotel and a quiet first evening.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
A guided visit of the Hassan II Mosque, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V in Rabat, then the Rif Mountains and Chefchaouen.
Day 3: Chefchaouen
A guided walk in the blue medina and sunset at the Spanish Mosque.
Day 4: Chefchaouen – Moulay Idriss – Volubilis – Fes
The holy town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun and the Roman ruins of Volubilis on the way to Fes.
Day 5: Fes
The madrasas of Bou Inania and Al-Attarine, the Qarawiyyin and the Zawiya of Moulay Idriss II. Optional Sufi music evening.
Day 6: Fes – Middle Atlas – Erfoud
Across the cedar forests and high plateaus to the palm groves of the Ziz Valley.
Day 7: Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
The mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, ancestor of the ruling Alaouite dynasty, in Rissani. In the afternoon a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes and a night in a desert camp, far from any light, under the stars.
Day 8: Merzouga – Todra – Dades – Ouarzazate
Sunrise in silence over the dunes, then the Todra Gorge, the Dades Valley and Ouarzazate.
Day 9: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
The fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou and the Tizi n’Tichka pass over the High Atlas.
Day 10: Marrakech
The Koutoubia, the Ben Youssef Madrasa and the Saadian Tombs with your guide.
Day 11: Marrakech
A morning walk to the shrines of the Seven Saints, then a free afternoon for a hammam or rest.
Day 12: Marrakech – Essaouira
About 2.5 hours west to the ocean.
Day 13: Essaouira
Mosques, synagogues and a church in the same medina, the Zaouia Sidna Bilal of the Gnawa and the ramparts at sunset.
Day 14: Essaouira – Azemmour – Casablanca
The shrine town of Azemmour on the Oum Er-Rbia river, El Jadida and its Portuguese cistern, then Casablanca.
Day 15: Casablanca, free day
Rest, the Habous quarter or, on a Friday, prayer at the Hassan II Mosque.
Day 16: Departure
Transfer to Mohammed V Airport.

The desert has long been a place of retreat. A night in the Erg Chebbi dunes, far from city lights, is the quietest moment of the trip, with sunrise and an open sky full of stars.
Who was Moulay Ali Cherif?
The 17th-century ancestor of Morocco’s ruling Alaouite dynasty. His mausoleum stands in Rissani, at the edge of the Sahara.
Can Muslim travellers attend Friday prayer?
Yes. We plan Friday prayer in a major mosque, for example the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca or the Koutoubia in Marrakech.
How physical is the tour?
It involves medina walks and a short camel ride. The free time in Marrakech and Casablanca helps, and we adapt walking times to your group.
